CASA PALACIO SAN JOSÉ II — Baroque elegance with private gallery
A home with history in the heart of Seville's monumental centre
Facing the Convent of Madre de Dios and at the epicentre of the historic quarter stands this seventeenth-century Baroque house, masterfully restored by architect Rafael Manzano, a leading figure in the conservation of the Royal Alcázars. Here, travellers experience the most authentic noble Seville, in a space where craftsmanship, heritage and contemporary comfort coexist with absolute naturalness.
San José II is part of the five apartments in the palatial complex and pays homage to Seville cabinetmaker Francisco de Paula Farfán, born in this very house in 1869, whose artisanal legacy remains present in the restoration.
The building: a living palace
Access via San José Street 7 leads to the entrance hall with a large wrought-iron gate, to the first courtyard and to an open room that opens onto the main porticoed courtyard, with Roman marble columns, fountains and exuberant terraces with pergolas.
Inside, a celebration of crafts: classical ceramics, fine carpentry, coffered ceilings and plasterwork mouldings that make each room a unique piece.
The apartment (125 m² + private gallery-terrace)
Distributed around the main courtyard, this bright apartment combines generous proportions, high ceilings and noble materials—marble, wood, artisanal ceramics—with carefully considered contemporary Spanish-style decoration.
✔ 125 m² interior
✔ Private gallery-terrace of 25 m²
✔ Additional access to the landscaped terraces and upper solarium (over 180 m², shared use)
✔ Three bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms
Social areas
To the left of the entrance, an independent kitchen opens up, fully equipped.
A hallway leads to the living-dining room, decorated with period Spanish pieces and modern furniture. This bright and welcoming space is perfect for reading, conversing or watching TV, and features a dining area for six guests. A toilet serves the day area.
The living room opens onto the glazed gallery-terrace, with sliding panels and views of the main courtyard, a corner full of calm and light where you can enjoy yourself at any time of year.
Rest area
• Master bedroom: 160×190 cm bed, noble wood headboard, spacious wardrobes, desk and en-suite bathroom.
• Bedroom 2: two 90×190 cm beds, fitted wardrobes, desk and en-suite bathroom.
• Bedroom 3: identical layout to the previous one, also with en-suite bathroom.
Two of the bedrooms connect directly to the gallery-terrace.
The terraces of the Palace
On the third floor awaits one of the great attractions of Casa Palacio San José:
an elevated garden full of vegetation, solarium with rainfall shower and corners for breakfast or enjoying the sunset with views of the domes, bell towers and terraces of the Judería neighbourhood. On this floor you will also find the communal laundry (washing machine, tumble dryer and individual clotheslines).
The experience
From this privileged location —5 minutes from the Cathedral and the Giralda, and steps from the Santa Cruz neighbourhood and the Murillo Gardens— you can enjoy monumental, gastronomic and cultural Seville on a walk full of stimuli.
The building has security cameras in common areas, intended for the security of the facilities. There are no cameras inside the apartments.
The building houses five independent apartments (San José I, II, III, IV and V), with total capacity for 22 guests.
If you are travelling in a group, you can book several or even the entire palace.
Home at Homes invites you to experience something absolutely unique: living in a seventeenth-century palace house, masterfully restored by Rafael Manzano, one of the great classical architects of our time and responsible for iconic projects such as the Reales Alcázares complex or the Hotel Alfonso XIII.
Located in the heart of the historic centre—5 minutes from the Cathedral and the Giralda—, the property spans over 1,000 m² and combines heritage, craftsmanship and contemporary comfort. The entrance on San José Street 7, with its imposing wooden doors and original ironwork, anticipates the monumental character of the interior.
The building: living history
A large porticoed courtyard with Roman marble columns, fountains, porticoed rooms, galleries and exuberant terraces create a unique setting. Inside, a genuine display of craftsmanship: coffered ceilings, fine carpentry, classical tilework, Baroque mouldings and an exceptional collection of furniture and antiques selected by the owners.
Access to the apartment is via an elegant vestibule leading to the main courtyard and the imposing staircase (or lift) ascending to the principal floor.
The Apartment (330 m²)
The entire first floor of the palace houses Casa Palacio San José I, also called The Count's House: a sumptuous three-bedroom apartment that retains its original layout and Baroque essence.
Social areas
• First living room with games table, piano, reading area and TV
• Spectacular dining room with Bohemian crystal chandelier and table for 12–22 guests
• Large library-lounge, the jewel of the apartment, with three windows overlooking the street and natural light throughout the day: the finest vantage point imaginable for viewing Holy Week

✔ Bedroom 2: 150×200 cm bed, dressing room and en suite bathroom

From here you can enjoy spectacular views of the Santa Cruz neighbourhood and its bell towers.
On this floor you will also find the communal laundry room, with washing machine, tumble dryer and individual clotheslines for each apartment.
